Steel Tropics is led by steel drummer Tom Liston. Tom first heard Calypso music being played many years ago and immediately fell in love with the sound of the steel drum bands.

Steel Tropics has recorded several cds that you can check out here on the site. All of Steel Tropics steel band recordings have all been huge successes! Keep your eyes and ears open for brand new Caribbean steel drum cds being released very soon. New Calypso music and Steel Pan sounds are on the way.

The band's current CD Island Dreamin' features all original steel drum music composed and arranged entirely by Tom Liston. This recording also features Tom’s original song “Sweet Calypso Woman” which can be heard in the 2010 motion picture starring Jennifer Lopez called "The Back Up Plan"
